Title: A Quick Question about Scammers.
Post by: Biscuit on December 12, 2015, 10:24:19 PM
The reason I have posted this is because of occurrences I have seen while playing on TF2SS servers, and a question I had related to a question on the administrator application. While it is seen rarely, a player will be tagged [SCAMMER]. If this player is tagged as a scammer, why are they still allowed to play on the server? I understand that the player will obviously not be able to trade with anyone, but why have they not been banned in the first place?

Thanks,

I think so, I've only seen one player with the [SCAMMER] tag on, still be able to play.

These are people who are marked as SCAMMER on SteamRep and that we've not manually banned on the servers.

The reason they can still join the servers and play on them is because we actually have no idea as to how they got the bad reputation, so we couldn't ban them.

Okay, I see now. So they were marked as a scammer OUTSIDE of TF2SS, that makes sense now.

This post can be marked as resolved. Thank you.
