Hello ,
While playing of the TF2SS #33 server (trade_plaza) I encountered a player that that the ability to cheat and have an unfair advantage ingame.
This player had the ability automatically aim a headshot any spy that clocks invisible, very similar to an aimbot/third-party aiming tool. This person claims it's just a 'glitch', but nevertheless is an unfair advantage. I for some reason this player and this player's friends (who made up the majority of the server) seemed to have been conspiring against me, so they knew if I had ever joined SPEC mode to get evidence, they would stop their actions to prevent me. I have a cropped screenshot of the chat, where this player claim's to be using a 'spy glitch'.
This all happened May 21st, 2016 at approx. 9pm PST

Player nickname: ¬°Rawr
Thank you for your help.

I am familiar with this user. I've had an encounter before.
A close eye will be kept on the player from my own perspective.
But is there any other proof you could provide?
-
Might be that old exploit we had issues with before. Likewise, he'll be watched. However, Rawr does know me somewhat, moreso as the guy with the large head. (he kept complaining about it while we were sniping). Are you sure he said it was a 'glitch'? If so he might be using that exploit.

In all honesty I think if a glitch is used over and over again it will still be called an exploit, I personally dont know rawr so I cant judge for sure whether he usually does this or not, but I think its against the rules to "gain an advantage using an exploit" in a way
-
How about to relieve some of your Stress I give you my own input on this as Rawr himself.
Yes, it's a largely known exploit in which I've told Admins of TF2SS before, yet I don't remember which one. As it was long ago.
It's a recording exploit, and no I do not personally use it myself as using it will take up harddrive space that I need for other things.
The exploit itself is this as following:
In console put in the following command
bind key "record 123; stop"
This will force your game to record a demo for a split second and then stop it. And during the second it renders/unrenders the demo everything in game is rendered. Players, particles, and yes, invisible spies.
And during the time this was shot. Neither Syn or I actually used this glitch.
And as to my knowledge you won't be able to stop it in your own servers unless you turned off the recordings of demos in your servers.
Hoped this helped.

And were you doing this repeatedly at the time this was reported?
-
If you would read, not offending. I just said that I don't use this exploit as it takes up waaay too much Hard drive space.
Would I rather kill 1 than save a total of 1 GB of Hard drive? No.
Does this answer your question?

Here's the thing. If it's blinded, the demo file will be overwritten every time it starts recording. It would not hoard HDD space either as most demos are barely like 20MB of space.

Yet the person who told ME of this glitch said that they had to delete up to 6 GB because of this.
Which is why I haven't used it personally.
-
Likely because they weren't good a programming. Recording demos take up little space but for actual recordings which create files you need to save, then that takes up a decent amount.

That's because the bind was incorrectly made. "record 123; stop" does start the demo recording, but will not stop it. Because of this, the demo keeps getting filled up with storage space.

Probably too late to tell them then. The person who told me this, had told me this back before I had 1k hours. They're vacbanned by now. Don't even think they use steam anymore.
But if I recall this was an issue with Valve not the command they found out.
