Title: Vote on Server 06 Reversion! - Poll Ended
Post by: Lunarium on March 18, 2020, 05:07:59 PM
This vote is for the popular majority of players who want to have a say in their favorite server.

Your input is greatly appreciated!

From an insider perspective, it makes sense that a majority of the player base prefers low gravity + crits because that's what they were introduced to when they joined the community. Removing them caused uncertainty and inconsistency among the players because they weren't sure what to expect from the servers anymore.

From an outsider's perspective, the pay-to-win environment is very toxic and unwelcoming. It has become the norm for regulars to flex their seniority on the servers as a means of intimidating and chasing away newcomers.

The main question is whether SwapShop is more worried about keeping the remaining players it has or if it wants to take a chance at attracting a wider range of players.

I propose an alternative where shop items that are strictly pay-to-win are removed and so credits are spent on items that do not introduce negativity bias. This would first off discourage "toxic" players from coming back regularly since their crutch is now gone for the most part, while retaining most of the regulars who join on just to chill and chat, and the !shop still somewhat preserves its function of attracting new players with a gimmicky tool.

Thank you to the people who all contributed and gave their opinions on the matter.

This poll and results will be taken into consideration as where to move next with the community server.

Possible might make a vote for the shop content. Maybe you guys see that as more of a problem? We will see.

Thank you.
