All donations get sold for cash to support the servers. I will check into unusual pricing. Everything is based on backpack.tf cash trade values - it gets converted to credits.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it has always been that donation bots don't accept unusuals due to the constant shifting of prices. Of course, I very well could be incorrect, but I do recall that being the way it is somewhere and did not just make that up. :/ I personally don't have any unusuals so I can't test this for myself, but for those who do, please do check so that we can understand more fully why this happens.

So after digging through the pricing index I found the following. You have a series 88 unusual festive tree. The bot should pay 150 credits for every cent in value so it should be showing 5612.805cents x 150credits = 841920 total credits...

The few tests I had done when we finally got the bots back online were successful. Perhaps at the time you tried to trade it there was no cash value on backpack.tf

Unfortunately if there is no cash value on backpack.tf our bots default to regular craft hat values.

In your case a regular craftable festive tree is worth $0.19 x 150credits = 2850 total credits
