Availability or Removal of Particular Public Boards
« on: December 02, 2016, 05:44:12 PM »
People don't use the forums anymore. Some have suggested to cut down on boards. The boards being:
  • Discussions
  • Suggestions / Feedback
  • Off-Topic
  • Staff Introductions
  • Introduce yourself
  • Comedy Central
I suggest that we make these boards unavailable to the public and only available to the members who ask for the boards and for Sixteen, Nationn and myself.

People only go on the forums to suggest things or acquire information.

I vote to just leave it be for archival purposes. While the forums isn't so popular, it does still contain a lot of useful information.

Why remove a lot of these boards? How else can suggestions like this even be seen if the board for it is removed?

Those who are not signed in can only see this board.

2. Why make it to where when someone signs in that they cannot see it? Then they won't know it exists. How are they to ask to be able to not only view it, but post there if they do not even know it exists in the first place?

I do not understand. The discussions board contains situations pertaining to SwapShop for Discussion.

Suggestions board is self explainatory.

Off Topic is for as the title says off topic, contains anything not related to SwapShop but want to talk about.

Staff introductions are meet so that the community can find out some generic information about the administrators. I also do not believe administrators would be happy having a numerous amount of players adding them just to ask questions about them.

Introduce yourself allows players to take part and introduce themselves to the community and who they are. Removing/hiding this board isn't ideal as it would actively prevent players from taking part in the community.

Comedy Central board is meant for players to go for a laugh, I do not see why this one should be hid from others when it promotes activity on the forums in getting individuals to not only take part but to share in laughter.

There is absolutely no point in removing the availability of these boards in particular.

It's not worth the time or effort. Just leave it be.

Really pointless to make them unavailable yes there are not a lot of people who go on forums. But we are not ever going to change availability for opportunity to allow new people to join.

I actually really like Hades idea. Thanks for the input, guys! You guys are right. This would only repel new members and keeping the boards retain encouragement. We've gotten somewhere and that's part of the journey. Thanks, Hades.
