Server upgrades this week

Well I officially had enough of east lagging and not being able to figure out whats causing it. Having to reboot every other day and it taking 4+ hours has pushed me over the edge lol...

I have ordered SSD's for both east and west server with overnight shipping and will be upgrading to windows server 2016 this week. I have my fingers crossed it doesn't destroy our servers and I can get them back online quickly. Once things are running I am sure there will be bugs so please let me know when you see something.

I feel like this has happened time and time again. Rip servers. At least this time the server host didn't just lose everything by accident. Good to hear.

Yes we have done upgrades in the past and things didn't quite work out lol... Going from windows 2008 to 2016 is a huge leap and that's where I may have issues...

Yea but something needed to be done to cure this lag issue once and for all. High speed hard drives and newest server OS should do the trick.

Like you said: Once and for all. Here's hoping. I'm cynical just being that every previous time, changes have seemed to be "once and for all" yet there is always a next time. You have my prayers.

They were incerted in both servers roughly 5 hours ago. I have been trying ever since to get server 2016 installed on east but I am not having any luck. So onto plan B - I decided to reinstall server 2008 R2. Setup is transferring files painfully slow - this is what you get when you are forced to use a java client to install an operating system remotely.

Depending on the progress over night I might boot the old hard drive and allow players on during the day and resume working on it at night.

Server 2008 R2 install finally finished - I have a lot of things to configure yet before it is all ready so I will be booting off the old drive to allow players on for the evening.

Made some progress last night - Report and donation bots are online. Sever backend is up and running. Server #1 is online. As the day progresses servers will start coming back online 1 by 1.
