CS:GO Server Inquiry and Argument
« on: November 18, 2015, 03:19:30 PM »
Greetings! My name is Freeze; I'm also known as TheWhiteFace and I enjoy playing on server #08. I also hold various silly aliases.

I am, of course, creating this topic to address the CS:GO servers. I have one disclaimer which could completely transform this argument into void; I have no idea when these servers are at their peak in population and activity. I have noticed that these servers are quite empty according to the forum's home page at most times. Do players still want CS:GO servers? Do players still play on the servers? Do SwapShop regulars or regular players even play on the servers at all? Do we need these servers?

From a money perspective I assume that these servers require money to stay afloat in the large sea of servers. It is unnecessary to continue paying for these servers if people are not playing on them. With that said, their residence would also waste potential for other servers that SwapShop could host on Team Fortress 2. These servers could possibly be creating more lag across all of the other TF2 servers (disclaimer: I am not an expert on anything regarding internet connection and servers).

To get a good idea of what the community wants and if they play on the CS:GO servers regularly I suggest opening a forum poll. If people no longer desire for the servers or play on them then I propose the servers to close for the sake of Death's "monies" and potential. I would also recommend that SwapShop also look at potential maps for 24/7 map servers.

If people still want CS:GO servers and people are indeed still playing on these servers then I suggest SwapShop to cut at least one server for one map in particular; I bet after a little bit of familiarization the #08 community would enjoy...

Oh, and Death, I've actually been big on this in Tf2
But it could be cool to add it in CS as a lot of people do use it.

But basically surf maps. Either surf stage or combat maps, if you do feel interested, just steam or forum pm me and I'll give you some more details about It
