Opinions on the new "Tough Break" Update
« on: December 17, 2015, 04:35:12 PM »
I create this topic to generalize about the brand new Smissmass update for us this year.

My biggest happiness, and sadness, are some of the weapon nerfs that they had now applied.

I generally want to aim this at the new weapon stats entirely, and what some like and dislike.

Post below, and express your opinion on how it could possibly change the game play of your favorite classes in Tf2.

My favorites (Happy about)
- Dead Ringer increased to 75% Damage reduction instead if 50% (It finally being useful to put into the survival class again.)
- Spy-icicle no longer shows the fire proof shield above their head when avoiding fire.
- Crossbow gives players ubercharge on heal to team.
- Amputator Now provides Uber, and a better heal rate for the team when taunting.

My Dislikes (Not too happy about)
- A lot of the launcher nerfs
- The Pyro no longer having the "Tryhard Loadout" (Degreaser, Reserve Shooter, Axtinguisher)
- Demoknights have been slain through their shields and weaponry.

Jag keeps on getting nerfed... I don't like that at all. Destroys engineer's mobility a lot.

I personally liked it where it was after gun mettle. But now 3 hits for a sapper? Nope.

Good:

Dead Ringer
Amputator
Crusader's Crossbow
(to an extend) The Loose Cannon

Bad:

Shields (all)
Degreaser
Chargin' Targe

Funny:

Cozy Camper (4 healing rate lol, what?)
Cleaner's Carbine
Beggar's Bazooka (still spammable)

Annoying:

The fact that ping now appears as a signal bar instead of actual numbers.

The ping solution can just be solved with the console command cl_netgraph 1, it doesn't affect game play, shows your fps, ping, and many other stats.

Can help you cope with the new update.

I'll talk about the update in terms of Towers (server #08). I will not lie, this update was pretty great! I really like the fact that the Half-Zat is now in competition with the Nessie's on Towers. The over heal capability really highlights its ability to chain and now it finally has a longer melee range. However, I'm a bit skeptical of the Persian Persuader getting the longer range buff...

The Claidheamh Mòr is literally a nerfed HZ; there really isn't a reason to use the Claidheamh Mòr on Towers. Charging now spectacularly removes debuffs! Pyros can no longer get after-burn kills on Demos if they charge before death.

Apparently, Snipers can now shoot the Huntsman while in the air. This buff seems unintentional. I'm still surprised the Huntsman hasn't been nerfed. The Panic Attack looks like it can compete with the Shotgun. The switch speed increase seems to be pretty moot on Towers.

The huntsman update was for the weapon to have use in Mannpower.

Along with it needing a  debuff, I don't see it. The weapon is already a moderate speed projectile, instead of a hitscan, weapon, and it's fully charged body shots only do 120, which is only enough to one hit a sandman scout. Plus firing speed compared to the defaul launcher give lots of separate time to shoot. The huntsman is balanced in my eyes.

Hm, valid argument. However, what about in Medieval Mode and Towers? A fully charged crit shot will do 360 damage. Couple that with no FOV limitation via zoom and a considerably ridiculous hitbox. In addition, the Huntsman can now be fired while air-borne. I understand in Medieval Mode it's Medieval Mode but, honestly, lots of people play the mode just to melee and not get killed via guns.
