Application Guidelines

Application decisions are made in approximately 7 days after posting. Applications are reviewed on a separate, hidden board accessible only to Staff members.
If your application is accepted, Recruit Specialist (Lunarium, TheMagicMarksman, Psyk0tik, Gawain, or NotAliasing) will add you to begin your training process. If you do not accept the friend request or respond in 7 days of the friend request message, your application will be denied for inactivity. Your training process will be 1 month long. Towards the end of the training process, you will be required to take a short quiz.
If it is denied, your application will be moved to the Denied Applications section and you may reapply after 3 months have passed (or 1 month, if your application's vote was close).

You are required to respond to any staff questions present on your application within three days from the time of the staff member's posted question. Failure to do so puts your application at risk of being suspended or denied.

Requirements
  • You must not have any VAC bans.
  • You must not have violated any of Steam's terms of conditions.
  • You must be at least 15 years old.
  • You must have a public profile on Steam.
  • You cannot have a suspicious SteamRep (too many VAC-banned friends, scammer friends, etc.)
  • You cannot have a bad reputation on our servers because of bans, mutes, gags, etc. enacted approximately within the last 6 months (exact duration depends on severity of the initial punishment).
  • You must have at least a 6 month old Steam account.*
  • You must have played at least 1 month on our servers.
  • You must have a microphone.*
  • You must have have at least 500 total hours on Team Fortress 2.*
  • You must have a premium account on Team Fortress 2 (not a free-to-play account).*
Requirements marked by a yellow asterisk (*) may be flexible. Flexibility will depend mostly on how well the application is written.
Recommendations
  • You engage in a voice-based interview with a Recruit Specialist; doing this may greatly increase your chances of being accepted. *Currently Unavailable*
  • You are OLDER than 16 years old.
  • You have MORE than 500 total hours on Team Fortress 2 and have played a lot within the last 2 weeks.
  • You're fluent in English.
  • You're relatively active on the forums.
Tips for Writing your Application
  • Demonstrate proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Answer every single question to your fullest extent.
  • For the question about your self-assessments from 1-10, vary your numbers as much as you can.
  • Write your application like how you would for a job. Be serious while writing your application. It will reflect your maturity.
  • Try to get referral(s) on your application from other people or Staff members to post on your application and comment why you would be a good candidate for Administration. (NOTE: Referrals from other family members or alternate accounts do not count.)
  • Regularly check on your application on a daily basis and respond to replies in order to resolve any possible discrepancies that your application may have.
  • If you happen to have questions, you can also reply on your application to ask.

If your application is discovered to contain copied responses from another application or contain lies, you may be permanently banned from applying again. If you were accepted as Server Administrator and were found to have lied about anything within your application, you may be demoted and banned from ever applying as well.

Previous and current staff members are exempted from any guideline changes.
