Crypt of the Necroposter

Since I'm the link man I've decided to make a topic dedicated to finding or suggesting topic locks or topic relocations. If there's a topic you know that's super old, then post it here for the admins to lock it or move it. As time goes on people will forget about topics. Find stuff that's actually irrelevant. I know most of Comedy Central could be locked. I'll link a few to start...

Keep in mind that we can only lock topics that are 3 months old. Anything that doesn't have that red warning text on top of the quick reply box yet means that it's still somewhat relevant.

Nice to know. Sorry for not being helpful. :P I've never seen this "red text." Ya, I've seen it before. I don't really have to look for the text when I can just look at the date. :P At least one of the topics I've listed is over three months old. Are you trying to get out of doing stuff? :D

Nah dude. I just wanna filter out the still-somewhat-relevant topics from your list. And besides, Sipow or Hades can handle that stuff. I'm taking a break from any administrative duties. :P

You're welcome. :) Um... Not to be the grammar police but I think you forgot something in your sentence. Does this change make more sense than the previous version: "All irrelevant *topics have been* locked due to their age." I hope that helps. :D

The reason why these haven't really been locked is just because they're in comedy central or off-topic. Nothing of importance is posted in these boards, so it isn't really necessary to do anything with these topics.
But since you insisted, they were locked.

I never insisted on the topics being locked. I'm just trying to help you guys do your jobs. It is what you should be doing after all... You should be locking topics after three months regardless of where those topics are posted.

I don't think there's ever been an issue with people bumping old posts. When there's red text, people usually decide to leave a topic alone. I only lock posts that are deemed in need of locking, 3+ month old posts don't really cut it.

We've had some small issues with necroposting since I'm one of the only few people on here. I've done it once in a while. So SwapShop has technically had issues with it in the past.

Learn the easy way instead of the hard way. If you lock these topics after three months, then it could save you trouble in the future. Personally, I find three months to be just fine since we don't have a lot of members. Although, I do like what I'm hearing. I've been to lots of forums where lock times are over three months. But those forums typically have more members who will post more frequently and will tend to go back to old posts. So take it for what it's worth. I think you'd be fine for now if you just avoid the work. :P But will you be better off in the future?

And SwapShop forbid me for just wanting to help out with your work. Peter can't have good ideas because Peter encourages us and wants us to work on stuff. :P Lock the topic if you guys don't want to work on this. It's fine, I know you guys are super busy with in-game stuff. You guys get a lot of heat for your jobs. It's all 'k if you guys don't want to do this. I mean it; I'll hold no hard feelings. :)
